eBay store and shop design for Australian sellers

eBay store design for Australian sellers brands the parts of an eBay.com.au store that eBay lets you change, from the billboard and logo to categories and featured items, and adds a matching listing template for every item. The package is US$999, with a free preview first.

Family-owned in New Jersey since 2005 · Designing for Australian eBay sellers · Updated October 2026

Why it matters

What eBay store design in Australia covers in 2026

eBay Australia has changed the name of its storefront more than once. Sellers used to subscribe to an eBay Shop, the help pages now say store, and since May 2026 the subscription itself is called eBay Pro, so eBay shop design and eBay store design now describe the same job. A store on eBay.com.au is branded through the same parts as one on eBay.com: a billboard, a logo, a store description, up to 300 store categories, featured categories and listings, a marketing banner and a store video. Custom HTML store pages are long gone, and listings can’t run JavaScript. We design each of those parts for your brand, then build the listing template that buyers see on every item.

Australian stores we have designed include Miss Dresses, Lanina Boutique, Oz Plaza, T & R Sports, Tyres for Less and Barney’s Toy Box. Our team works from New Jersey, so most of a project runs by email and shared previews. Our working day falls overnight in Sydney and Melbourne, so a question you send in the afternoon reaches us as our day starts, and the reply is often in your inbox by the next morning.

Frannie Kline founded OC Designs Online in 2005, and the same family-owned team designs, codes and installs every store. We quote in US dollars, there are no monthly design fees, and the finished template code is yours.

What you get

  • Store billboard

A 1280 × 290 billboard, or a carousel with your store video, with the message kept clear of the edges that phones crop. Versions for EOFY, Black Friday or Boxing Day sales can follow the same design.

  • A logo that reads small

A 300 × 300 store logo that is still clear as the small icon beside your listings in search results and the eBay app.

  • Store categories

A category plan built around how your buyers shop, by brand, size, vehicle or occasion, with 300 × 300 images for six featured categories.

  • Marketing banner and featured listings

A 640 × 640 banner that links to a sale or a category, and up to four rows of featured items for new stock and best sellers.

  • Matching listing template

Mobile-first HTML and CSS with your branding, Australian postage and returns sections, and links to your other listings. It contains no active content.

  • Applied without relisting

We put the new template on the listings you already have, so each one keeps its sales history and watchers.

  • Store description and policies

Your 1,000-character store description and your policy text laid out so buyers see who you are and how you post before they scroll.

  • Installed and tested

We install everything and test it on phones, tablets, desktops and in the eBay app before we hand it over.

eBay Pro

eBay Pro plans and your store design

eBay Australia moved Store subscribers onto eBay Pro plans on 12 May 2026, and Basic, Featured and Anchor subscribers kept the same fee. eBay describes the branded store as part of Pro. Fees are eBay’s, in Australian dollars including GST, as of October 2026.

PlanMonthly feeWhat it changes for your store
Pro Starter No monthly fee No branded store; the store comes with Pro Basic and higher. eBay moves sellers onto it automatically once sales pass A$25,000 over 12 months.
Pro Basic A$27.45 Adds connections for third-party listing tools, plus eBay’s advanced marketing and discount tools.
Pro Featured A$82.45 The same tools, with lower final value fees.
Pro Anchor A$604.95 The same tools, with the lowest final value fees.
Free selling, no Pro plan No monthly fee Since May 2026, eligible Australian sellers pay no transaction fees on up to A$25,000 in sales a year.

Do it yourself

How to customize your eBay store in Seller Hub

Any seller with a Pro plan can brand their own store. These are the steps on eBay.com.au with the sizes eBay asks for, and they are the same steps we follow when we install your design.

  1. Check your plan

A branded store comes with eBay Pro. If you sell under free selling, move to a Pro plan before you start.

  2. Open Edit store

In Seller Hub, open the Subscriptions tab and choose Edit store.

  3. Upload the billboard

Use 1280 × 290 pixels, under 12 MB. Keep text and your logo away from the edges, because phones crop the sides. eBay’s Seller Centre suggests 1200 × 270 for banners, so a design with wide margins suits both.

  4. Add your logo

Use 300 × 300 pixels, under 12 MB, with a mark simple enough to read as a small icon.

  5. Write the store description

You have up to 1,000 characters. Say who you are and what you sell in the first sentence, and keep postage and returns details in your store policies.

  6. Set up categories

Create up to 300 custom categories, five at a time. Each item can sit in two of them at no cost. Choose six featured categories and give each a 300 × 300 image.

  7. Feature listings and a banner

Pick up to four rows of six featured listings, and add a 640 × 640 marketing banner that links to a sale, a category or a listing.

  8. Check it on a phone

Open your store at ebay.com.au/str/ followed by your store name, on a phone and in the eBay app, and fix anything that gets cropped.

A store video (MP4 or MOV, under 150 MB) shows only after eBay reviews it, which takes about 48 hours.

Australian rules

What your listing template needs for eBay Australia

Templates bought for a US or UK store often carry the wrong postage and returns text. These are eBay Australia’s current rules for the sections of a template we design (October 2026).

Template sectioneBay Australia’s ruleHow we handle it
Returns Sellers choose a 30 or 60 day return period and who pays return postage. Business sellers may also have obligations under the Australian Consumer Law, and buyers can return a faulty item whatever the policy says. A returns section that matches your Seller Hub policy, with room for consumer-law wording you approve
Postage Sellers on free selling generally buy eBay labels for parcels within Australia, and a Pro plan is needed to offer other postage options. Sendle stopped taking bookings in Australia on 11 January 2026. Postage text that names the services you use today, updated across every listing at once
Links Listings may link only to other eBay pages, YouTube, Vimeo or Dailymotion videos, eBay-approved freight services and legally required information, all over https. Links to other websites aren’t allowed. Links to your store categories and related listings in place of your website
Active content JavaScript, Flash, plug-ins and form actions don’t display, and new listings that contain them are rejected with a “Disallowed JavaScript/HTML Syntax” error. HTML and CSS only, tested in the eBay app
eBay Plus Buyers can filter search results to show only eBay Plus listings. Space near the top of the template for free postage and returns details when your items qualify

How we work

How an eBay Australia store project runs across time zones

One account manager from the first message to launch. Most stores take about three to four weeks.

Works with eBay’s listing form and Seller Hub, Sellercloud, SureDone, Solid Commerce, ChannelAdvisor (Rithum) and 3Dsellers.

Start with the questionnaire
  1. Questionnaire and quote

Tell us about your brand, your buyers and your listing tool by email, or book a call. Around 6 am in Sydney or Melbourne is the previous afternoon in New Jersey, so early mornings suit calls. We send a fixed quote before any work starts.

  2. Free preview

Your first mock-up arrives in about 5 to 7 business days. Feedback you send in your evening is in front of us when our day starts.

  3. Unlimited revisions

Ask for as many changes as you need. Each round takes 3 to 5 business days, and every layout is checked on phones, tablets, desktops and in the eBay app.

  4. Install and support

We install the store and template within 7 to 10 business days of approval and put the template on your existing listings without relisting. After launch you can still email or call us.

Good questions

Questions about eBay store design in Australia

Something else on your mind? Call (609) 675-0912 and a real person answers.

How our projects work
Do you design eBay stores for Australian sellers?

Yes. We design stores and listing templates for eBay.com.au, and Australian eBay stores we have designed include Miss Dresses, Stylish Charms, Lanina Boutique, OZ Plaza, T & R Sports, Grand Bazaar and Remy Hair Extensions. Our team is in New Jersey, so projects run by email, shared previews and calls early in your morning.

Is it called an eBay shop or an eBay store in Australia?

Both names have been used. Australian sellers used to subscribe to eBay Shops, eBay’s help pages now call the storefront a store, and since May 2026 the subscription is called eBay Pro. The design work is the same whichever name you use.

Which eBay Pro plan do I need for a branded store?

A branded store needs a paid eBay Pro plan, Pro Basic or higher. Connecting a third-party listing tool through eBay’s API, and using coupons and sale events, needs Pro Basic or higher.

How much does eBay store design cost for an Australian seller?

Our store and listing template package has one fixed price in US dollars, and premade templates cost less. Extras such as a second template are quoted before work starts, and there are no monthly design fees.

How long does a new eBay store take to design?

About three to four weeks for most stores. The first mock-up arrives in about 5 to 7 business days after your questionnaire, each revision round takes 3 to 5 business days, and installation takes 7 to 10 business days after you approve the design.

What size is the eBay store billboard and logo on eBay.com.au?

eBay Australia’s help pages ask for a 1280 × 290 pixel billboard and a 300 × 300 pixel logo, each under 12 MB. Its Seller Centre suggests 1200 × 270 for banners, so we keep text and logos away from the edges to suit both.

Will my template follow eBay Australia’s listing rules?

Yes. Our templates use HTML and CSS only, with no JavaScript, Flash or forms, and link only to eBay pages and approved video sites. eBay Australia rejects new listings that contain active content.

Can you add Australian postage and returns details to my template?

Yes. We lay out your postage services, return period and who pays return postage so they match your Seller Hub settings. If you sell as a business, we add the Australian Consumer Law wording you or your adviser approve.

Will a new eBay store design increase my sales?

We can’t promise a number, and no independent study has measured one. A matching store and template make the store look like an established business, keep postage and returns easy to find, and show related items on every listing.
