Custom logo design for eBay sellers and online stores

Custom logo design for an online seller means one original mark that stays clear as a small eBay avatar, fits your listing template and store header, and prints cleanly on boxes and labels. Our in-house New Jersey designers draw it for $150, with revisions included.

Why it matters

What custom logo design does for an online store

An online seller’s logo has to work small. On eBay it sits on your store page and shrinks to a little picture next to your seller name. The same mark goes in the header of your listing template and your website, in the browser tab, on packing slips, shipping labels and tape, and on the profile picture of every social account you run. We draw a custom logo with those places in mind from the first sketch, so it stays readable at the size of a fingernail and still works when a label printer only has black.

Frannie Kline started her business designing custom logos and selling them on eBay. Then a client who owned an eBay store asked her to design a storefront, her first, and that project led to OC Designs Online, which she founded in 2005. Our family-owned team in New Jersey has designed logos alongside eBay stores, listing templates and websites ever since, and every logo is drawn by one of our own designers. We don’t outsource design work.

You start by answering our design survey about your business, your buyers and the looks you like and dislike. Your designer sends up to three first concepts made only for you, you choose one, and you ask for the changes you want. A custom logo is $150, and revisions are included. When the project is paid, we send your original logo files, and the logo is your property.

A free logo maker is fine if you are testing a few listings and need something today. An original design starts to pay off once you sell under the name for years, print it on packaging, put it on a store and a website that should look like one business, or plan to register it as a trademark, because a mark built from a maker’s shared icons is hard to call your own.

Your options

A logo maker, a gig marketplace or a logo designer

Online sellers usually get a logo for an eBay store or website in one of three ways. Each one changes how original the mark is and what you can do with it later (October 2026).

Free or AI logo makerGig marketplace or design contestA logo from our designers
What it is An online tool that builds a logo from your business name and a style you pick A freelancer, or a pool of contest entries, chosen from a marketplace listing A designer on our in-house team, working from your survey answers
How original it is Built from icons and fonts the tool offers every user Depends on the designer; check that the work is drawn new Drawn from scratch for your business
Files you get Varies by tool; check whether vector files are included Set by the package you buy SVG, PDF, AI, EPS, PNG and JPG files

Where it goes

Where an online store’s logo shows up, and the size each place asks for

A seller’s logo lands in more places than most people list at the start. These are the sizes the main platforms ask for, as of October 2026. Most of them are small and square, which is why we design the mark for those first.

WhereWhat the platform asks forWhat the logo needs
eBay store logo Square, 300 × 300 px, under 12 MB A square version that still reads when eBay shows it small, sometimes inside a circle, next to your seller name
eBay listing template header Set by your template design A wide version for the top of every item description, sharp on phones and desktops
Shopify store Brand logo 512 px wide or more, square logo 512 × 512 px, favicon 16 × 16 or 32 × 32 px Wide and square versions, plus a simple icon for the browser tab
Amazon brand logo Square (1:1), at least 400 × 400 px The same square version you use on eBay
Facebook profile picture At least 320 × 320 px, shown at about 176 to 196 px A square icon with nothing important near the corners, since Facebook shows it in a circle
Google search results A square favicon, larger than 48 × 48 px recommended An icon simple enough to recognize at the size of a letter
Packing slips, labels and tape Whatever your printer or label service needs A one-color vector file that prints cleanly on a thermal label

Logo files

Logo file formats, and where each one goes

Designers and printers will ask for different files. This is what each common format is, and the job it does for an online seller.

FormatWhat it isUse it for
SVG A vector file that scales to any size without blurring, and opens in web browsers Websites and anyone who needs to resize the logo
AI and EPS Vector files from design software, the usual choice for printers Packaging, signs, vehicle graphics, embroidery and promotional products
PDF A document that can hold vector artwork Sending the logo to a print shop or a label service
PNG with transparency A pixel image whose background can be see-through eBay, Shopify, social profiles and anywhere the logo sits on a color or photo
JPG A pixel image with no transparency, so it always has a solid background Email and documents, where a white box behind the logo doesn’t matter
Favicon (ICO or PNG) A tiny square icon The browser tab and the icon Google shows beside your site in search results

How to check a logo for an eBay store and other small spaces

Whoever designs your logo, these checks show whether it will hold up where online sellers actually use it. We run them on every concept, and you can run them on any logo you’re considering.

  1. List every place it will appear

Write down your eBay store, listing template, website, marketplaces, social profiles, packing slips, labels and anything printed. Small square spaces will outnumber the wide ones.

  2. Look at it at 48 pixels

Shrink the logo to about the size of a browser tab icon. If the name turns to a blur, plan a short version, such as initials or a symbol, for small spaces.

  3. Put it in a circle

Facebook and parts of eBay show profile images inside a circle. Make sure nothing important sits in the corners of the square version.

  4. Print it in one color

Labels from a thermal printer come out in black only. The logo should still work without its colors or any shading.

  5. Try it on dark and light

Place it on a white page, a dark photo and your brand color. You may need a white version for dark backgrounds.

  6. Search the name before you print

Search the US Patent and Trademark Office database for similar names in your product area before you order boxes or signs.

  7. Keep the original files safe

Store the vector files where you will find them in five years, because every printer and developer you hire will ask for them.

Keep the logo off your item photos. eBay’s picture policy doesn’t allow added borders, text, artwork, marketing or watermarks on listing photos, so the logo belongs in your store and your listing template.

Good questions

Questions about custom logo design

Something else on your mind? Call (609) 675-0912 and a real person answers.

How our projects work
What do I get with a custom logo design?

An original logo drawn for your business by one of our in-house designers. You get up to three first concepts, revisions on the one you choose, your original logo files once the project is paid. The finished logo is your property.

Which logo files will I receive?

Your original logo files: SVG, PDF, AI and EPS vector files for print and for resizing without loss, plus PNG and JPG files for websites, eBay and social profiles.

Will my logo work as an eBay store logo?

Yes. eBay asks for a square store logo of 300 by 300 pixels under 12 MB, and sellers report that eBay also shows it small, inside a circle, beside their seller details on listings. We design the mark with that small, round view in mind, so your square version stays readable there.

How do I upload a logo to my eBay store?

On a computer, open Seller Hub, go to Store and choose Edit store. Add your logo in the logo field, check the preview and publish your changes. eBay asks for a square image of 300 by 300 pixels under 12 MB.

Can I put my logo on my eBay product photos?

No. eBay’s picture policy doesn’t allow added borders, text, artwork, marketing material or watermarks of any kind on listing photos. Put your logo in your store and in the header of your listing template instead, where buyers see it on every item.

Can I trademark my new logo?

In the US, trademark rights start when you use the mark to sell, and registering it with the US Patent and Trademark Office is optional but gives you stronger protection. Search its database for similar marks in your product area before you print anything. We design the logo, and a trademark attorney can advise on the filing.

Should I use a free logo maker instead?

A free logo maker is a fine start if you are testing an idea on a few listings. Its icons and fonts are shared with every other user, so the result can look like other sellers’ logos and may be hard to protect as your own mark. An original design is worth it once you plan to build the brand for years.

Do I need a logo before you design my eBay store?

No. A store or listing template design can use the logo you already have, or a text logo set in the fonts and colors you choose. If you want an original logo as well, we design it first so the store and listings are built around it.

Can you design my eBay store and listings to match my logo?

Yes. We design eBay stores, eBay listing templates, Shopify and BigCommerce stores and WordPress websites, so the same team can carry your new logo, colors and fonts into all of them.

What do you need from me to start?

Your answers to our design survey: your business name and any tagline, what you sell and to whom, colors you like or want to avoid, and a few logos you admire. If you already sell on eBay or have a website, send the link too.

Do you work with businesses outside New Jersey?

Yes. Our team is in New Jersey, and we design logos for sellers across the US and abroad by email, phone and our online project board.
